The Opening night of «The Violet of Montmartre» by Imre Kalman took place in March of 1930 in Vienna.
This operetta differed from the previous masterpieces of the composer and even today it costs independently in its creativity. The plot of “The Violet of Montmartre”, undoubtedly, has been cast by "Scenes of Bohemian Life" by the French writer Henri Murger and "La Bohema" by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini. These two products was a success as at readers as at listeners.
However, the Kalman’s plot is different – it occurs under laws of an operetta. There is no tragic outcome, but a hymn to spring, love and creativity.
«The Violet of Montmartre» perhaps is the most sincere and poetical product of the composer filled with charming lyrical melodies. The heroes of the operetta are cheerful inhabitants of Montmartre: Raoul Delacroix, a painter; Henri Murger, a poet; Florimond Herve, a musician and two heroines – two opposite female characters – Violetta (the Violet) and Ninon.
«The Violet of Montmartre» was staged five times during the eighty-two-year our theatre’s history.
Performance will be staged by well-known Hungarian stage director Miklos Szinetar.
The Opening night is planned to take place in May 2012.

Our theater starts to work over production of the unknown in Russia performance „The Academy of Mr. Klex”.
The musical of Polish composer Andrzej Korzyński is created on a plot of the popular fairy tale of Jan Brzechwa. Jan Victor Lesman was his original name. The literary pseudonym which he has chosen - " Brzechwa", is literally means "babbler" or "joker". And it is valid, all his fairy tales, fables, verses, fantastic stories, songs are filled by jokes and humour. The fairy tales about the Mr. Klex brought Jan Brzechwa great popularity.
Who is Mr. Klex? Is he the magician and the wizard, the wise teacher or simply kind person, the conjurer or the inventor, the adult or the child? The boy called Adam want to get the answers to all these questions. He accidentally falls into the Academy of Mr. Klex. In this academy children study language of plants and animals, cognize an ocean floor and space. They have interesting mysterious dreams and all of them learn to good… But whether it will be possible to Adam to solve a riddle of the Mr. Klex?
Performance will be staged by the Polish production group from the Musical Theater ROMA (Warsaw) headed by the director Wojciech Kępczyński.
The opening night is planned for September, 2012.
